MediaSmith - Client Testimonials
Got a sketchy photographer you don’t trust? Or are you just feeling uneasy about that website that looks like it’s from the early ‘90s? Check out what clients had to say about the services that MediaSmith has provided them!
Customer testimonials are extremely important to us. We aim to compile a video of the clients we serve that helps prove that we are who we say we are and that we provide the quality that others expect us to deliver.
I try to have every client I serve give MediaSmith a video testimonial.
However, if a video testimonial cannot be given, then I write a recap of the event in my eyes. I also pull quotes from my clients to write something about that day. With that said, I hope you find value in us through the way I have recapped the events.
WEDDING photography + videography TESTIMONIAL
Photographing and getting video of this wedding at the Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix/Avondale was spectacular. We have shot all sorts of weddings - both big and small. These types of weddings fit right in the middle. I love how homely this one felt.
Video Testimonial - James Reams
James Reams has been a client of mine since 2012. I was introduced to James via a friend of mine. Since then, we've gone on to tackle a huge list of things: video editing material that was shot years ago, photographing his concerts, getting live footage of his concerts and distributing it on YouTube, and, most importantly, creating this documentary called Like A Flowing River.
high school graduate Senior Portrait Testimonial
This photography shoot was as great as it gets. Senior portraits are incredibly important to everyone involved - the school, the parents, and most importantly, the senior who is about to graduate. For us old folk who have gone off and graduated, we can only treasure moments like these for the senior. To them, it is a stepping stone to something much greater. Some teenagers go off to college while other teenagers go into the work force immediately.
This bright young lady has an incredible mother who only wishes the best for her. With that in mind, we scheduled a shoot for a good portion of the day. We traveled all over the city - from Glendale, to Buckeye, and then to Goodyear. The location in the picture above was in Goodyear. We were lucky enough to get there while the sun was setting and the weather was still nice.
With other shoots like corporate events and weddings, I always feel a bit of pressure because I always want to be perceived as a perfect company that can do no wrong. For me that means that it takes a bit longer for me to really get into the creative mood. While shooting senior portraits, I feel like it is a bit easier to unwind. We were able to talk about silly things like boy groups, my lack of pop culture knowledge (I have no clue who Ed Sheeran is), and Chipotle!
Since this was done for a great friend of mine, the turnover for these pictures was one week.
Anniversary Photography + Videography Testimonial
This was a perfect family event. I really enjoyed going out to this event and photographing it. It reminded me of where I started before I began this business with my brother. I was only asked to stay until the cake cutting, but everyone at the anniversary were having so much fun on the dance floor that I just had to stay and get photos of the party enjoying themselves.
Ultimately, it is why I do what I do and I try to teach that to the others who accompany me. I can shortchange people for the extra time I am there, but I think that ruins the experience for everyone. When I was set to leave, people were asking for photos. It is easy for any company to say, "Well, I am not being paid, so I don't have to take your photos." but that's not us - that's not me.
So, I stayed and photographed everyone. Yes, I stayed an hour or two longer than I expected, but there were quality photos that came out of those last two hours.
Since I did this for a good friend of mine, the turn around for the photos were the next morning with post production done on over 150 photos.
Automobile Photography + Videogrpahy Testimonial
An amazing friend of mine set me up with his uncle to do this shoot. One night as I was plotting out to schedule my upcoming months, my friend called me on the phone and said,
"Josh, my uncle has always wanted to do a shoot on his bike.
I told him that you were the guy to go to."
My friend has done so much for me. He is responsible for a good portion of my reputation in Arizona. I just could not refuse this shoot. I knew it had to be done because I would not trust another photographer to go out and photograph my friend's uncle's bike. This was also an all day shoot. We covered the entire city. The three of us traveled to Tempe, Scottsdale, Glendale, and to Goodyear.
The incredible thing about photography is that it doesn't really matter if you're going 180mph or 20mph. The beauty in post production nowadays is that I can add in blur effects myself. So, we were able to leisurely shoot at highway speeds (when on the highway) or at city street speeds. The entire day was an incredible amount of fun. It really tested how long and strenuous a day I can handle. Luckily, I was able to make it from morning to night time.
Even though it was a long day with quite a few photos, I was able to turn around these photos (150+) within a week.
Automobile Photography Testimonial
This shoot I did for an awesome friend of mine. This guy has been a buddy of mine ever since we met as coworkers at a grocery store. Since then, we have both moved on to bigger and better things. Not only did I do this completely free of charge because of my affiliation with him, but also because he is going off to be active duty military. As a military brat, I have a soft spot in my heart for both active duty and retired military.
Before I began this business with my brother, I always had people who wanted to go out and shoot photos. My friend had asked me to shoot his car before I began my business. I had heard he was going into the military and I just had to do this favor for him before he left. It actually spurred a great idea from the both of us: a potential talk show where the car owner washes their car while I photograph it and they just give their spiel about why the bought the car and what their future plans are. As a car enthusiast, it has perked my interest multiple times.
But what made this shoot endearing to me was the melancholy. It felt like a proper send off to a great friend. It also showed how much we have both changed since we bagged groceries. Before, I was just a kid with a DSLR snapping away with my kit lens. Now, I am shooting with external battery packs, extra everything in my car, multiple lenses, and a lot more confidence.
During the shoot, I kept telling him, "If you expect something out of this, you'll be disappointed. Always go into everything without expectations." After the shoot, he had messaged me saying,
"By the way the pics you sent were phenomenal!!!"
That's what I live for. Phenomenal work. I put my heart into everything MediaSmith creates.
