University of Arizona
Tucson, AZ is the home of University of Arizona (UofA).
UofA is located just south of Phoenix, AZ and Casa Grande, AZ.
UofA is known for having the Eller College of Management, Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, James E. Rogers College of Law, the Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences, and for having one of the best medical schools in the world.
Due to personal trips down to Tucson, I really got to understand the vibe of the tight knit college community.
I have done street photography near the UofA as well as done graduate portraits for students who attended the UofA.
Davis-Monthan Air Force Base
Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (Davis-Monthan AFB) was one the first location that I went to the first time that I visited Tucson, AZ.
As a military brat, it was only natural to want to go to the AFB first and check out places like the Commissary and the Base Exchange (BX).
The combination of the nearby college and the AFB makes the town of Tucson feel like a tight knit community despite the population being over 500,000 people in 2016.

JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa
Stephen + Jake - Wedding Photography and Wedding Videography
MediaSmith LLC was proud to do the wedding photography and wedding videography for our close friends, Jake and Stephan.
The wedding was originally supposed to be outside, but due to light showers that day, we were asked to move inside a room inside the hotel.
While rain would usually put a damper on the entire day, it was quite soothing especially at the end of the night when we could hear the light sound of rain hitting the glass on the doors.
The venue itself was fantastic.
It was so immense that my team and I had gotten lost and didn't know where to go to meet everyone.
We certainly look forward to being back to the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa located in Tucson, AZ.
Vail Theater of the Arts (VTOTA)
james reams and the barnstormers - concert photography and concert videography
MediaSmith LLC had the privilege of doing concert photography and videography for James Reams & The Barnstormers.
Our day started at 12:00pm.
James Reams and his driver, Scott, picked me up at my house and we were on our way.
It normally takes about two hours to get from Phoenix to Tucson, but since the Vail Theater of the Arts is farther south than the city, it took us about two hours and a half to get to the venue.
Setup was solemn.
Once the audio and lighting team set everything up, we went about our merry way and started to plan how we would capture the entire performance.
James Reams & The Barnstormers played for nearly two hours (with an intermission).
After their performance was done, we packed up and drove straight back home to Phoenix.
It was a twelve hour day, but at least it was in the tail-end of October and the weather was cool!
No complaining from us!
It was a fantastic shoot and I look forward to being back to the Vail Theater of Arts sometime soon.
